Good and simple ideas are very attractive to me, specially in design matters. It is such a pleasure to wear a piece of jewellery which reveals the perfect equilibrium between material, form and function. This necklace of croatian artist Lidija Kolovrat made with silver tubing and ensambled on silk black thread is all about good common sense. I bought it to …. the owner of SODA Istanbul, who besides her interest in contemporary art, she has this fascination for European and Asian contemporary jewellery.

This pieces called ¨D(ancing) B(alls)¨ made by the provocative danish artist Jet Mous, were a present of Masako Ban. In her colourful work she incorporates ready made objects such as thread bobbins, porcelain or paper pieces, and recyclable objects such as deodorant rool-on balls or detergent containers. This neckpiece looks heavy at first sight but the hollow plastic balls makes it very light. If you want to see more of her work click HERE.
